Pieniny National Park by bike
Our bike tour begins in Sczawnica, the capital of Pieniny Mountains where we visit the most beautiful places of this health resort. We have also time for breakfast before the trip here. After the meal we cycle along Grajcarek and afterwards along the Dunajec river . Now we can admire wonderful views, steep rocks, forests and tearing water of rivers. In the museum one can find out interesting facts about the local nature of the surrounding mountains and forests. Dunajec forms the unusual, mysterious and beautiful landscape here and that is why this place was granted national park status. After the short distance we come to Slovakia. The road becomes somewhat more difficult, but views remain consistently great. On the way we will see peak of Sokolica, the top from which we can admire amazing view on Dunajec and Tatra mountains. Our first destination is the Red Monastery, a village located in Slovakia, known from the former carthusian monastery from 1319. In the year 1545 monks from the monastery were attacked by soldiers from Niedzica Castle located nearby, which is our main destination. From the Red Monastery we can see Three Crowns, most majestic mount in Pieniny and Tatra, the highest slovak and polish mountains. Niedzica Castle lies above the Czorsztyn Lake. This medieval castle hides many secrets. The legend says about hidden Inca treasure here. There also many other legend which we will know visiting the castle.
The route we take is truly picturesque, unforgettable and full of historical and natural attractions. It also belongs to the one of the most beautiful in the region and in Poland.The tour runs through the mountains along the River Dunajec, which creates unusual climate here. On the route you will find places where you can feel like in the mysterious world.
